This past week was spring break week for the kids.
It was exhausting!
Not in a bad way, we were just so busy during the week.
Thankfully, we had mostly sunny days and were able to get out and enjoy it.
Here's a little glimpse into our week at home.
It started with the kids making us a fancy snack date.
Owen and Bella put our fanciest tablecloths on the table and chairs (really our bathroom towels...that's how fancy we are!) and made us a salad to share.
We made homemade pizza for dinner later that night and Owen worked hard at making his pizza a robot.
Or was it an alien? I can't remember...either way, it's the one on the right.
In keeping with our "fancy" theme, Bella made place cards for us. This was the teenager table
and not to worry, Mr. and Mrs. could sit there too!
Apparently teenagers aren't children, so they sit at this separate table!
I wasn't the only one exhausted this week.
Owen fell asleep several times during the week with a book in his hands.
We got a letter and a picture from our World Vision sponsored child. We sent Moses and his family a gift at Christmas in honor of the Grandma's, and this is what their family bought with it.
A goat, a pig, books, a school uniform for Moses, a new suit, and sheets and blankets.
We visited Menchie's for the first time and got a frozen yogurt treat before hitting the park.
Bella loaded hers up and put just about every topping on hers!
Owen thought it was a dub because he only got candy, not frozen yogurt. Darn food intolerance.
And Aidan's a teenager, so he doesn't care what he's eating!
Aidan met up with some friends at the park, while Owen, Bella, Sophie and I ran around on scooters, bikes and at the dog park.
There is a little trail between two ponds that the kids like to wander through.
Sophie loves the water and spends most of her time in the swamp
Aidan is on day 2 of tryouts for the school baseball team, so during spring break he met up with a few friends from school to do some hitting and fielding.
We all ended up watching and running around at the park
The two little guys spent the first few nights of break sleeping in their fort. Bella is on the left, Owen on the right.
Sophie spent the night right alongside them keeping close watch.
And while I tried to be really good about taking pictures, I forgot my camera the next few days.
Just image us jumping at Jump Sky High and spending hours upon hours at the practice studio listening to Aidan drum.
Isabella and I continued a yearly tradition and headed over to the Tulip Farm
Our first stop is always the trash heap.
She's my daughter!
We found about 50 bulbs (yes, they were trash!) that we brought home and planted for next year.
We bought 50 stems of daffodils from the field and love having them around the house.
Bella tried her hand at some photography while we were there too.
We frolicked in the fields for a bit, but the tulips aren't blooming yet. They were holding out for some warmer weather, just like me!
We also decorated our hardboiled eggs.
Each year I think we are getting closer to being done with that tradition, but Aidan reminded me that we could do it "or whatever"...pretty sure that meant he wanted to keep with tradition.
We had a tye dye egg bath this year too.
They turned out really cool.
Against Mike's wishes we also did glitter on some of the eggs.
Aidan was our official quick dryer.
Here they are all lined up Easter morning ready to hunt.
Can you find the hidden eggs?
We also woke up and found that our neighbors had made an egg hunt for us in the front yard with hollow chocolate eggs.
Wasn't that sweet of them?
After opening up the goodies in the Easter baskets, Bella presented us with a sheet of coupons.
Mike already cashed in on the "one free kiss".
No Easter is complete without a game of knockers.
Owen won!
Easter turned out to be a beautiful day and we were thankful to get to spend it with Mike's extended family.
We even had a little Easter egg hunt for the kids in the lot next to Grandma's house.
Grab these if you dare!
The men hid the eggs while the kids waited patiently for the hunt.
Still hiding!
Ready, set, go!
And they are off!
Eggi found a gold mine!
Owen climbed a tree to find a stash of eggs
The adults looked on
Kaylie found an egg...but then found the grass more interesting!
Gavin had a little help from Uncle Brett
Wait? What is that? The sun! Such a beautiful day!
And this is how you do Easter dinner at Grandma's house for a crowd. The three car garage becomes quite cozy! Such a perfect place for sharing a meal.
Happy Easter!
