Our new kitchen!
The cabinets got refinished with a paint/glaze finish. We also got new hardware on all of the doors.
We had slab granite installed with an undermount sink. I can't wait to use it!

Owen loves to dress up in his Superman costume.
Mike saved some money for us by taking out our existing countertops. Owen helped dad out by hammering down the nails.

Owen loved that he got to squirt the fire hose
He's in awe!
One of the things Owen and I love to do together is have a picnic lunch in front of the fireplace. I made him a fun bagel with apple ears, grape eyes and blueberry smile. He thought it was so fun to bite his ears off!
What's with that face???
O's class and the firefighters
Check out Owen in his red fire coat and hat!
I've heard that lots of kids are scared of the firefighters when they are all dressed up. Owen didn't seem too nervous of this friendly firefighter.
More of our new appliances. It already makes the kitchen feel different. But man...those fingerprints!!!
Owen took a field trip to the fire station today. He could have spent all day driving the fire truck. Notice he brought his fire dog with him. No self respecting firefighter could manage without their trusty fire dog!
What is this??? A cup holder?

Owen had a police officer come visit his school. He loved talking on the loud speaker.

We are currently in the process of giving our kitchen a face lift. We are removing all the white appliances and putting in stainless steel. Putting in granite countertops, refinishing the cabinets with a really neat paint/glaze finish, and refinishing the floors. It's a process, but one we can't wait to see come full circle.
Here's phase 1: The appliances

Owen has had a vocabulary explosion lately. He's always been a funny goofy kid, but now that he has words to go with it, he is side splitting hilarious sometimes. There is something about his tone and inflection that makes even the simpilist phrase hilarious.

We sometimes tell Owen that we aren't happy with something he has done and he will always turn it around when we say that and say "well, daddy is happy with me."
I took a quick trip to Cancun with two girlfriends from church and had a wonderful time! My camera pooped out on me after getting these two not so great shots. There was a huge hurricane that took out a few hotels and much of the beach a few years back. There were several homeless people who took up residence on this part of the deserted beach. Should I ever become homeless you will know where to find me!
