A few weeks ago, Esther sent me an e-mail from a friend's marketing agency in search of about 50 kids to be in a Sleep Country commercial. I thought it might be fun for the kids, so I sent their picture on to the agency, and she forwarded it on to the casting director.

A few days later I got word that they had enough kids Isabella and Owen's ages, but they would love to have Aidan in their commercial. Mike and I went back and forth on it, because we knew the younger kids would be disappointed, but in the end, it isn't always about everyone getting to have the same experiences, and we broke the news. Of course, Isabella was most disappointed but she got over it and even wrote him a "good luck" card the day of the shoot.

I picked Aidan up early from school and we headed into Seattle for the big day. We were immediately escorted into the green room (yep, it was green)
and shown to the catering table. There was food everywhere!
Aidan took the opportunity to pose in a directors chair before being swept off to prepare for his commercial.
He started off in wardrobe. The stylists agreed that red was his color, even if he didn't necessarily agree!
Then he was whisked into hair and makeup.

There was more extra pampering of him on set too.
People were even called in to bring him water! He was eating it all up!

We met the crew and were introduced to the director.
And this stage mom, got comfy behind the cameras and got to see on the screen what Aidan was filming and saying.
They filmed lines for 6 different commercials that they will then piece together and edit. We aren't sure which ones they will use of Aidan but once I get the final edited version, I will be sure to post a link. In the meantime, feel free to get all the autographs you need now!

We just wrapped up another long week at the Teodoro's. The kids had 3 days off of school for mid winter break so they spent some time playing together, and making trains.
So thankful for a bonus room to spread out in!
We spent a lot of days in jammies, went to Chuck E Cheese and Krispy Kreme (love their report card reward programs) and hung out with our neighbor friends.
We also got a snow day thrown in to extend our mid winter break. Owen ended up going 11 days with no school. Phew...that was a long stretch!
Sophie got a new gig as the Nutro spokespuppy. Check out my blog post here. She's got to earn her keep somehow!
And she graduated from her 8 week puppy obedience class. She's learned a lot, but still has a lot of consistent training that we will be working on.

Her best friend in class was a bull dog named Tank.
One of the local churches put together a 5k fun run this past Sunday afternoon. The $10 fee went to support a new recess running program at Isabella's school. One of Isabella's New Year's Resolutions was to run another 5k. If you recall, she ran the Turkey Trot with me back in November. This time Grandpa came out to run the race with Isabella.
And so did the Edvald's. We had a friendly family competition. Their whole family ran the race, while only 3/5 of our family ran ours. Someone needed to hold the coats and take the pictures! Thankfully, Grandpa came out to represent for the Teo's too!
BRRRR....Peter and I finished the 5K together. Thanks for running with me Pete.
Sophie provided moral support...and warm fur to snuggle up to.
We were trying to stay warm before the race. It was really cold and windy.
Luke ran hard with his dad finishing third overall. Nice work Luke!
It was freezing cold and the girls (even Sophie) found the only heater around and snuggled up to it before the race.
Getting ready to run. Owen ran with me for nearly a mile. He did such a great job for his first race. I'm sure there will be many more to come.
Grace was so cute. She said "how am I going to come in first if I don't know the route?" Positive thinking, right! She actually came in first for the girls with Isabella trailing just behind. They ran the 5K in around 28 minutes.
And of course, who doesn't want to see another picture of Sophie crashed out after her morning walk.
